OTHER FOOTPRINTS TO AZTLAN: WORKS FROM THE COLLECTION OF MARY AND ARMANDO DURÓN
October 13-November 30, 2001

Opening Reception October 13th from 7-10pm
“Collecting Chicano Art” A discussion led by the Duróns on Saturday, October 13th from 5:30-7pm

As if the very word were enough to keep the millennial trail unbroken, “Aztlan” continues to be resuscitated by new generations of Chicanos – and others. Its multi-layered meaning conveys not only the search for a new homeland, but the function of carrying tradition through the journey. Other Footprints to Aztlan includes artistic interpretations of Chicanismo through art and media.
