[Opening] A People’s Legacy: Public Memory, Social Justice, and the Great Wall of Los Angeles

March 19, 2026 @ 6:00 PM - 10:00 PM PDT

Free
Make a stop on your Venice Art Crawl as we open the doors for our new exhibition tracing the origins of the Great Wall of Los Angeles from its 1974 conception to its current expansion.
See early sketches, journals, as well as archival works related to the creation of the Great Wall of Los Angeles mural and the founding of SPARC. Fifty years on, both stand as one of the nation’s most ambitious examples of public art as social justice practice.
Can’t make it to the Venice Art Crawl? Stop by SPARC during our regular gallery hours!
